As son Arthur pushes her, Laurel stays silent to protect him, reveals Emmerdale's Charlotte Bellamy
-
Emmerdale's Laurel Thomas ends up in hospital and the culprit is her teenage son Arthur.
The pair become embroiled in a furious row after Arthur finds out Laurel has attended the funeral of her evil ex-boyfriend Ray Walters. However, away from the cameras, actors Charlotte Bellamy and Alfie Clarke couldn't be closer after 16 years playing mother and son.
"It's funny because Alfie has been in the show since he was two-and-a-half and he's just turned 18, and his mum had to leave," says Charlotte. "I think she was more upset than anyone, because she'd been on set [as a chaperone] for the last 16 years.
"He's now a sort of adult around the building. He hasn't got his mum with him and he keeps saying to me, 'What am I going to have for tea?' He's got to make all these decisions by himself. I'm sort of coaxing him through all this and telling him he'll be alright."
