M&S boss tells Reeves of shoppers' fears

THE boss of Marks & Spencer has blasted Rachel Reeves's pre-Budget speech, warning customers were "planning for the worst".

Stuart Machin branded the speech on Tuesday a "presentation of nothing", as he revealed shoppers were now even more worried about tax hikes. Store chains are among those fearing the later than normal Budget, on November 26, will hit confidence in the final weeks before Christmas.
