TRIBUTES have been paid to a “beautiful” young woman who was killed in a crash.

- BY RYAN CARROLL

Kirsty Shankland, 21, died after the collision on the A98 near Banff.

Police were called to the scene following reports of a two-car crash involving a blue Honda Civic and a grey BMW X5.

Ambulance crews raced to her aid but Kirsty was pronounced dead at the scene.

Heartbroken loved ones have paid their respects to her on Facebook, while a GoFundMe page has been launched to help give her a “beautiful sendoff”.

A neighbour, who set up the page, wrote: “Sadly, on Wednesday evening, Kirsty was making her return journey to Aberdeen for a trip to Harris for a well-deserved break.
