JD & Lammy hook up for key meeting

US vice president JD Vance poked fun at David Lammy as they went carp fishing at the Foreign Secretary's country residence yesterday.

Vance began his family holiday in the UK with a meeting at Chevening House - Lammy’s grace-and-favour mansion in Kent.

Vance said: "The one strain on the special relationship is that all of my kids caught a fish, but the Foreign Secretary did not."

A US insider said Vance was seeking to talk about movement on Ukraine and Gaza.
