Report: Tehran as bad as Russia in wanting to harm UK citizens

BRITISH citizens face a growing threat of murder or kidnap by Iran and its proxy groups, a report has claimed.

And it warns Tehran is now as dangerous as Russia when it comes to wanting to harm dissidents on foreign soil.

Parliament's Intelligence and Security Committee report was based on classified Security Service papers.

It highlighted the Iran regime's “willingness to use assassination” and hiring proxies “including criminal networks, militant and terrorist groups” to carry them out.

Chairman Lord Beamish wrote: “The Homeland Security Group told us the threat of physical attack on individuals in the UK is now ‘the greatest level we currently face from Iran’ and comparable with the threat posed by Russia.
