I am worried his posh parents will ruin our marriage

Dear Coleen MY fiance and I are due to marry in spring next year but sometimes i worry that our backgrounds and families are too different for our marriage to succeed.

I suppose T'm looking for some reassurance.Tm the first person in my family to make it to university, which is where I met my fiance. He was privately educated and grew up with a lot of privilege. Even though he and his siblings are all adults with responsible jobs, their parents still rule the roost and are very controlling, which drives me nuts.

A couple of weekends ago, I had a huge argument with his mum over politics, which is stupid, I know. I shouldn't have taken the bait, but they're so out of touch with what's going on in the real world and it annoys me.
