Rowan picks up her brother and pal from airport after epic World Cup trip with care package of Tennent's and Irn Bru as Tartan Army arrive home from adventure of a lifetime

WEARY Tartan Army foot soldiers were returning to reality yesterday after their World Cup adventure of a lifetime.

Battered Scotland strips and kilts were heading for a much needed laundry trip, while their wearers were replacing party heads with thoughts of work.

Despite our team being bitterly defeated on the field of battle - losing their commander in chief in the process - fans were already looking forward to the next World Cup.

Student Rowan Stevenson, 19, arrived at Glasgow Airport to collect brother Rory with a care package of Tennent's lager and a case of Irn-Bru to help him and pal Callum Hand ease back into life after a long return flight from Toronto.

Rowan said: "The boys had been complaining about the beer in America so I thought I'd give them a nice Scottish welcome.

"They've had the time of their lives but I thought they might need a bit of help reintegrating themselves."

Rory and Callum have just graduated from Edinburgh University with finance and accounting degrees.

Rory said: "This trip has been unbelievable, just one long party to be honest, but it was an incredible experience.

"We did moan a bit about the beer out there so it was nice of Rowan to think of us like that."

The three-week trip has cost the boys a pretty packet but they had saved up and believe every penny was well spent.
