Fans head for Ibrox exit after horror start that leaves CL dream in shreds
RANGERS' Champions League dream is hanging by a thread after a horror start at home saw them fall 3-0 down to Club Brugge inside 20 minutes.
Dismal defending saw Romeo Vermant open the scoring after three minutes before Jorne Spileers and Brandon Mechele fired the Belgians further ahead.
That saw some Gers fans head for the Ibrox exits early after the worst possible start.
Those who stayed saw Danilo grab a goal after the break to give Rangers a bit of hope.
Djeidi Gassma thought he had made it 3-2 five minutes from time when he bundled the ball home but it was ruled out for VAR because he kicked it out of keeper Simon Mignolet's hands.
Rangers now have a mountain to climb in Brugge next week if they want to claim a £40million golden ticket.
Gutted manager Martin admitted the calamatious opening 20 minutes has left them with a massive mountain to climb.
But he is adamant the second-half performance gives them hope of a stunning revival next week, He said: "I'm really proud of the second half, the game is not over, the tie is not over.
