Stanger dreams of full All Whites cap

- BY SCOTT BURNS

GEORGE STANGER admits it would be “really special” if he won his first full New Zealand cap against Erling Haaland's Norway.

The Kilmarnock defender was named in the All Whites squad for the first time and was on the bench for Thursday night's defeat to Poland.

The World Cup finalists are set to continue their summer preparations and will do so against Norway in Oslo.

Stanger said: “It would be amazing for me. It is something that has been a goal of mine for some time.

“To get that opportunity to be involved in this squad. It's exciting and I will learn a lot from it. To get the opportunity to be on the pitch would be really special.”

Stanger has been capped at U20 and 23 level so he isn't a complete unknown and has been welcomed into the full squad with open arms.
