Five counts of rape... one of sex assault... 'on three victims'

Former Arsenal player Partey charged after 3-year inquiry

FORMER Arsenal footballer Thomas Partey has been charged with five counts of rape and one count of sexual assault.

There are three alleged victims. Partey, who reportedly earned about £150,000 a week at Arsenal, continued to play for the club for three years after the police investigation began.

Two counts of rape relate to one woman; three counts of rape relate to a second woman; and the one count of sexual assault relates to a third woman.

Partey 32, who joined Arsenal in 2020, is accused of carrying out the offences between 2021 and 2022.

The midfielder, who lives in Hert-fordshire, is due to appear at Westminster magistrates court in Central London on August 5.
