BRANDON ROBINSON THOMPSON put his spate of missed cuts behind him by matching the course record at the Joburg Open.

The Englishman carved out a three-shot lead over American Sean Crocker at the DP World Tour event after signing for an eight-under 62 to reach 12 under.
The 33-year-old had missed his last six cuts and said: “It was a lot of fun. I'm looking forward to the weekend a lot because it'll be my first in six attempts.”
