Camera captures crook scooping up tub of gelato from parlour freezer, Staff shaken but not swirled as vanilla villain makes chilled getaway

AN ice cream bandit was caught on CCTV stealing a tub of homemade gelato from the back of a popular dessert parlour.

Police have launched a probe after the incident at Loop & Scoop in Glasgow's west end.

The sweet-toothed thief was spotted snooping around its office on June 27.

In the footage, he picks up a set of keys and has a rummage in drawers but fails to find anything worth nicking before leaving to wander through the premises.

In a second clip he is seen emerging from a walk-in freezer clutching a £7.50 tub of ice cream.

As he leaves, he bumps into a surprised member of staff carrying milk into the kitchen. The brazen thief simply smiles and nods before making his exit.
