Coma crash racer faces 'marathon' recovery

A SUPERBIKE ace remains in a coma over a week after a horror crash left him fighting for his life.

Callum Grigor, from Wishaw, Lanarkshire, was left in a "serious" condition after the terrifying collision at Donington Park during the Pirelli National Superstock Championship race earlier this month.

The rider was thrown off his bike while approaching Godd-ards Corner before colliding with Manx star Nathan Harrison.

Mercy crews rushed to the scene and provided urgent care for both riders.

Callum, 26, was placed into an induced coma and rushed to hospital in Nottingham.

An update on the Scot's condition has been shared to his official social media account, which revealed he remains in the coma.

Callum is also battling a chest infection after he suffered trauma to his lungs and chest.

Doctors are waiting to find out the extent of other injuries and have described his recovery as a marathon.
