Charity boss suspended over dodgy cash probe

A WATCHDOG has suspended the founder of a disabled cycling charity over "inappropriate use" of charity cash and "misconduct" amid a probe into a bitter dispute between trustees.

The Scottish Charity Regulator (OSCR) confirmed it had suspended Norman Armstrong as a trustee of Glasgow-based Free Wheel North, saying inquiries indicated he had been "responsible for and contributed to misconduct in the administration of the charity".

His suspension was also linked to disputes with other trustees.

The OSCR had ordered the charity - which runs a cycling centre at Glasgow Green - to create a new board at a meeting today.
