Epic European comeback eases some of the pressure on under-fire Everitt

EDINBURGH turned The Hive into a deep-freeze fortress as they saw off Gloucester.

In bone-chilling conditions, they left the English outfit out in the cold to claim a big European scalp.

They did it the hard way and had to come back from an early eight-point deficit to come out on top.

The win was a huge relief for Edinburgh head coach Sean Everitt, who is out on contract at the end of the season and was facing the sack if results did not start picking up.

He has scrumhalf Ben Vellacott to thank for keeping him in a job, as it was his try that sparked the comeback.

The cold weather may have been brutal in the capital but, as the game went on, the English outfit were worse than the conditions.

On a night built for hard men, Gloucester didn't look like they fancied it when the going got tough, even after their fast start.
