Woman died after she was hit by bin truck as it reversed

AN inquest has opened into the death of a woman who was hit by a council recycling wagon.

Daphne Stallard died when she was struck on Brookes Street, Llandudno, on Monday September 1.

The collision occurred when a Conwy County Borough Council lorry was reversing in Caroline Road, in the North Wales resort.

Though an air ambulance was summoned Mrs Stallard, 89, was confirmed as having died at the scene, a hearing in Ruthin heard yesterday.
