Time To Turn can make it count in Newbury Stakes

TIME To Turn is difficult to oppose as he bids to open his account at the second time of asking in division two of the Local IQ EBF Novice Stakes at Newbury.

Plenty was expected of the son of Dark Angel on his racecourse debut at Haydock three weeks ago, with significant market support seeing him go off the 8-13 favourite in the hands of William Buick.

He was upstaged by stablemate Maximized, leaving odds-on backers to count their losses, but the winner's subsequent success in last week's Woodcote Stakes at Epsom makes that initial effort look more than respectable.

It is getting a bit late for Time To Turn to book himself a place on Charlie Appleby's Royal Ascot team, but victory at Newbury will surely set him up for a high-profile target later in the summer.
