Time to act to make A55 fit for 21st-Century traffic demands

The only difference being that real lives are being put at risk by people driving irresponsibly on a road that long ago ceased to be fit for purpose.

Some humourist sitting in an office in Cardiff decided many years ago that the newly constructed A55 dual carriageway should be characterised as an "Expressway". If ever there was a misnomer this surely must be it?

How a road which is the main link between Europe and Ireland could be thought to be fit for purpose without motorway status has always baffled me.
