AFTER years of working in bustling towns and cities, it's no surprise that many retirees seek a quieter, more serene life.

A recent study has pinpointed the perfect spot for a tranquil retirement by the sea, with a North Wales seaside town taking the top spot.

‘This year’s list, compiled by Taking Care, crowned the delightful Victorian seaside town of Llandudno as the best place for a peaceful retirement.

‘The elegant town outshone competitors such as Glossop, Tynemouth and Ilfracombe.

‘The study considered factors ranging from life expectancy and house prices to the average cost of care homes, should they be required.
