Wedi'i gyhoeddi yn y cyfnodolyn Proceedings of the National Academy of Sciences, mae'r ymchwil newydd yn cynnig dull trawsnewidiol o economeg - un sy'n cydnabod natur nid yn unig fel adnodd, ond fel system fyw sydd wedi'i chydblethu'n ddwin â hunaniaeth, diwylliant a lles dynol.
Mae'r canfyddiadau'n adeiladu ar Asesiad Gwerthoedd Platfform Rhynglywodraethol ar Fioamrywiaeth a Gwasanaethau Ecosystem (IPBES) y Cenhedloedd Unedig, sy'n dadlau dros ddealltwriaeth fwy cynhwysol o werth natur.
Mae'r papur newydd yn tynnu sylw at bwysigrwydd gwerthoedd perthynol - fel treftadaeth, goruchwyliaeth a chysylitiad ysbrydol - wrth lunio sut mae pobl yn rhyngweithio a'r byd naturiol ac yn gofalu amdano.
