Goal ace Ollie opens up on injury nightmare
WREXHAM star Ollie Rathbone admits that he considered quitting football after suffering a serious ankle injury in preseason.
The midfielder was named as the North Wales outfit’s player of the season last term after helping them secure promotion from League One.
However, Rathbone was dealt a major blow ahead of Wrexham’s first campaign in the second tier for 43 years after sustaining an injury during the club’s preseason tour of New Zealand and Australia.
The 29-year-old, who joined the Red Dragons from Rotherham United in August 2024, had only featured once this season until recently.
That was before he scored a late equaliser for Wrexham in a 2-2 draw at home against Watford in the Championship on December 13.
