McBurnie taps Tigers into Prem

HULL boss Sergej Jakirovic admitted tears were flowing after an ‘unbelievable journey’ culminated in a return to the Premier League.

City emerged from the chaos of the Championship play-offs to beat Middlesbrough 1-0 in the ‘Spygate’ final at Wembley.

Oli McBurnie scored a #200million tap-in in stoppage time to fire the Tigers back to the top flight after nine years.

Jakirovic, whose side only sneaked into the play-offs in sixth place on the last day, said: ‘A lot of players were crying with happiness at the final whistle.

‘It’s incredible. An unbelievable journey, so many problems, so to achieve the Premier League is incredible.’

McBurnie’s goal meant heartbreak for Middlesbrough, the side who came in from the cold after Southampton were thrown out of the play-offs for spying on them.
