MAN 'PRESSURED' INTO DRUG-DEALING AFTER RELEASE FROM PRISON

Defendant said threats were made against him and his family over debt

A MAN returned to dealing drugs after being put under “significant pressure” by fellow prison inmates, a court heard.

Jack Grocott was in prison for a previous drug-dealing conviction when he was “sought out” by prisoners who believed he owed them up to £20,000.

Mold Crown Court heard on Wednesday that when Grocott was released, he returned to dealing, but was caught by police.

Grocott, 29, and his co-defendant Guiseppe Calvert, 31, admitted drug offences.

A judge jailed them both for three and a half years for offences including being concerned in the supply of heroin and cocaine.

The court heard police in Connah's Quay saw two men who ran off, throwing away items as they went.

They caught and arrested Calvert, of Hawarden Way, Mancot, in February 2023.
