Lacey reveals Welsh roots after winning goal against Wrexham

A SYDNEY FC youngster broke down in tears after scoring the matchwinner in his team's shock victory over Wrexham and revealing his family's Welsh roots.
The Red Dragons are currently on a preseason tour Down Under as they prepare to play in the Championship next term. Proceedings got under way in a positive manner for Phil Parkinson's side with a comfortable 3-0 friendly win over Melbourne Victory last week. However, Wrexham were dealt a blow on Tuesday as they lost 2-1 to a youthful Sydney team. The Hollywood-owned club took the lead in the first half via an own goal as a James McClean free-kick was turned in by Sydney midfielder Corey Hollman.
The home side then equalised from a corner just before halftime as defender Alexandar Popovic converted. Despite piling on the pressure, Wrexham were undone in the 74th minute by second-half substitute Joe Lacey.
