'James like my annoying younger brother' – Jones

BAFTA-WINNER Ruth Jones has described friend and co-writer James Corden as like her “annoying younger brother”

The Gavin & Stacey star spoke of her friendship with co-star Corden after picking up her first TV Bafta for the best female performance in a comedy category, for her iconic role as Vanessa Shanessa “Nessa” Jenkins in the sitcom.

At Sunday night's awards, Jones told a star-studded audience: “I’m not going to lie, this is immense. The person I would like to thank most his my dear, dear talented friend James Corden.”

A clearly emotional Corden, sitting alongside his Gavin & Stacey co-stars, acknowledged the tribute.

Speaking to BBC Radio 4 yesterday, Bridgend-born actress and writer Jones said the reaction at Sunday's ceremony had been lovely.
