Injured climber is winched to safety

They landed on a ledge on the headland - suffering serious injuries in the fall.

A major rescue operation was launched with the RNLI and Coastguard team involved - joined by the Coastguard and air ambulance helicopters.

Llandudno RNLI station has now released a statement - explaining how the operation unfolded.

They said: “On Saturday 13 September, Llandudno’s inshore lifeboat (ILB) was launched to assist a fallen climber near the Little Orme.

“The ILB, carrying four crew members, quickly located the group on the western side of the headland.

“The casualty, one of seven climbers, had fallen a significant distance onto a rocky ledge and sustained serious injuries. With the tide halfway out and falling, the conditions made bringing the lifeboat close to shore extremely hazardous.
