He smashed ex-partner's car and held a knife above his head in the street

A MAN has been jailed after he 'completely and utterly lost it' when his relationship with his ex-partner ended. Mark Hatswell smashed her car and held a knife above his head in the street.
The 40-year-old admitted possession of a bladed article in a public place in Rhyl and several other offences. A judge at Mold Crown Court yesterday said his behaviour had been utterly unacceptable and 'nearly primeval.
He jailed him for 16 months. The court heard Hatswell, of Ernest Street, Rhyl, had been in a relationship with a woman but it broke down.
On April 8, at 4.30pm, police took a call from her to say Hatswell had thrown a concrete slab through her car window. There were further calls to say he had come back with a knife.
Police arrived and Hatswell tested positive for cocaine and cannabis. Prosecutor Laura Knightly said the defendant admitted taking £40 worth of cocaine that day.
