Green solution to replace 'cesspool' Eryri portaloos

A radical solution is planned for smelly public toilets at a car park used by walkers to access a popular route up Yr Wyddfa (Snowdon).

Current portaloo toilets at the facility, near the Snowdon Ranger hostel, are reported to be "unpleasant" in hot and humid weather, with no running water.
Eryri National Park Authority (ENPA) wants to replace them and is proposing two “zero discharge” toilets.
According to Natural Resources Wales (NRW), each of these loos is “technically a cesspool”. Zero-discharge toilets are essentially composting loos that need little to no water for flushing, instead relying on natural processes.
Some systems separate urine from solids to manage the waste more effectively.
Unlike the current portaloos, they don’t need chemicals for sanitation and de-odorising.
