From Ukraine to EuroSkills: Student to represent Wales on European stage

TAKING place in Denmark this September, Team UK consists of 19 competitors from across the UK, with Wales making up an impressive 37% of the team. Their participation highlights Wales’ commitment to excellence in vocational skills and underscores the nation’s ability to compete at the highest level on the European stage.

Yuliia, who arrived in the UK from Ukraine in 2022, has an impressive track record having already won multiple gold medals across high-profile events, including the WorldSkills UK National Finals and Welsh Culinary Association Competition.

Most recently, she won Best in Class at an international culinary championship and earned a gold medal in the ASF competition for a chocolate tart masterpiece.

Now studying Level 3 Professional Culinary Arts and preparing for Level 3 Front of House next year, Yuliia is also working part-time at the four-star St George's Hotel in Llandudno.
