Foster tipping Wrexham to reach the top flight within 'two to three years'

FORMER Wrexham star Ben Foster has confidently predicted that they will make it to the Premier League within the next two or three years.

- BY LIAM RANDALL

The goalkeeper played a crucial role in the Red Dragons' promotion from the National League after coming out of retirement in March 2023.

The ex-Manchester United and England shot-stopper famously made a crucial penalty save in injury time during a decisive clash with title contenders Notts County at the Racecourse Ground to secure an important 3-2 win.

He retired again in August of the same year after a rocky start to life in League Two, but remains a popular figure with Wrexham fans.

The 42-year-old, who also won the LDV Vans Trophy with the club during a loan spell in 2005, has now given his verdict on how long he thinks it will take them to reach the top flight.

Phil Parkinson's side are currently 16th in the Championship table after picking up seven points from their opening six games following their promotion from League One in April.

Despite some mixed early results, Foster is optimistic that it won't be long before Wrexham are competing in the Premier League.
