Boarders swept out by rip tide

Daily Post

February 19, 2026

THREE bodyboarders were swept out to sea from an Anglesey beach.

The incident happened at Trearddur Bay, with a rip tide pulling the boarders into danger. It saw the village's RNLI station launch a lifeboat after the alert was raised.

One young bodyboarder used recently learnt 'float to live' techniques to stay above water as they were pulled out to sea. They remained calm and were able to get back to shore along with one of the other boarders.

The third person was rescued by the lifeboat crew and brought to safety. They did not require further medical treatment.
