14-hour weather alert for 3 counties

THE Met Office has issued a 14-hour alert for wind for parts of North Wales.

The yellow alert comes into effect at 4am on Thursday, lasting until 6pm the same day, covering Conwy, Gwynedd and Anglesey.

People have been warned to expect potential travel disruption and power cuts. Coastal routes and communities as well as sea fronts could be affected by spray and large waves.

A Met Office forecast said: “A spell of strong northwesterly winds will develop across parts of southwest England and western Wales on Thursday.
