Supersub Kwagga worried about slow-starting Boks

SPRINGBOK supersub Kwagga Smith believes the Boks have only themselves to blame for not putting away the All Blacks in Auckland on Saturday.

The South Africans went down 24-17 after a disastrous start saw them trail 14-0 within the opening ten minutes.

“We're very disappointed,” Smith said.

“We had opportunities and didn’t use them. It’s now about reviewing that and making sure that next weekend in Wellington, when we get those opportunities, we actually use them and convert them into points.”

The Springboks will have another go at New Zealand this weekend in Wellington as they look to set things right after their loss at Eden Park. Despite a fightback in the second half, the world champions left themselves too much to do and fell to a disappointing 24-17 defeat. It was a match littered with errors, especially in the first half, and they now have several areas to address before the second Rugby Championship Test.
