Daily News
|March 03, 2026
THE Imbumba Foundation, a nonprofit organisation, hosted an appreciation event last week at Kingsmead Hollywoodbets Cricket Stadium to recognise entities that have contributed to its mission of driving social change and economic upliftment in rural and marginalised communities.
The foundation also staged its Trek4Mandela 2026 launch at the event, which is an annual initiative where participants climb Mount Kilimanjaro on Mandela Day (July 18) and Women's Day (August 9) to raise funds and awareness for their Caring4Girls program,.
Among the beneficiaries was the Daily News Milk Fund, which received a certificate of appreciation from the foundation's founder, Richard Mabaso.
"We always ask people to give, and once they do, it is important to appreciate them," Mabaso said.
He emphasised that the foundation's primary focus is community empowerment through a variety of initiatives.
