PEOPLE are earning extra cash during a city's long-running bin strike by doing private collections.
Thousands of tons of rat-infested rubbish have built up on Birmingham's streets in the month-long stoppage.
Reece Ticer, 29, an electrical engineer by day, charges £3 per sack and cleared 39 premises last week. The dad of one said: "The rats are a real problem. Lots of customers want me to come every two weeks and some every week."
