Lib Dems call for return of police counters

LIBRARIES, shopping centres and supermarkets must now be used for police front desks as new figures show an alarming decline in numbers.

The Lib Dems will today call for hundreds of new sites in England and Wales funded by scrapping police and crime commissioners.

Lisa Smart, the party's home affairs spokeswoman, told the Mirror that a wave of closures under the Tories means people are less likely to report crime.
