Unrelenting

ISRAEL continued to pound Gaza with airstrikes yesterday, killing a reported 82 people.

Several women and a week-old infant were among the latest to die, the Gaza Health Ministry said. In Khan Younis, 24 people were reported killed — 14 from the same family.

The attacks came despite a back-lash against Israel's latest offensive.

Troops also surrounded two of northern Gaza's last functioning hospitals, preventing anyone from leaving or entering.

And humanitarian aid bound for Palestinians was held up.
