'There will be ramifications'

THE mother of a student killed in the Nottingham knife attacks believes the public inquiry will lead to “ramifications” for police and healthcare services.

Emma Webber said the victims' families need answers on how Valdo Calocane, who had paranoid schizophrenia, was able to kill her son Barnaby, his friend Grace O'Malley-Kumar and caretaker Ian Coates.

Mrs Webber said: "Pretty much every single institution and organisation has failed in one way or another.

"So we need the NHS to answer what happened, what didn't happen, with regard to his diagnosis and treatment, also what happened in custody with regard to his mental health attention.
