THE twisted wreckage of the nose of an Air Canada Express plane shows the devastating impact of a crash that killed two pilots at a New York airport.
The packed Bombardier CRJ-900 ploughed into a fire truck as it landed on a rain-soaked runway at LaGuardia at 11.40pm local time on Sunday.
One of the pilots killed was named last night as Antoine Forest, from Quebec.
Flight attendant Solange Tremblay survived after being hurled 100m from the aircraft still in her seat.
It is believed she was sitting behind the pilots and suffered multiple fractures, including a broken leg that needs surgery.
