Neuer pedalling into knockouts

MANUEL NEUER has ordered Germany to continue their blitz on the World Cup - and secure a place in the knockout stage as soon as possible.

Julian Nagelsmann (below) and his men made the perfect start to their campaign with a thumping 7-1 win over minnows Curacao in Houston.

Life promises to get a bit tougher, when Germany clash with Ivory Coast in Toronto tonight.

The rivals find themselves locked together at the top of Group E, with the Ivorians having dispatched Ecuador in their opening match.

But veteran Neuer wants his side to keep the pedal to the metal, and secure qualification to the last 32 with a game to spare.
