Reeves funds initial 250 neighbourhood centres

PATIENTS will be able to see pharmacists, dentists and GPs under one roof after a funding boost for hundreds of neighbourhood health centres.

Chancellor Rachel Reeves last night confirmed investment for 250 “one-stop shops”, starting in the UK's most deprived areas.

Dubbed the Neighbourhood Health Service, the scheme is designed to treat people nearer home, rather than forcing them to travel miles for outpatient care.

It will initially focus on improving access to GPs and supporting patients with complex needs and long-term conditions such as diabetes in the poorest parts of the country.
