Reds in a rush to get party started

IT was so long ago when Liverpool last won the title at Anfield, that their fans had transistor radios glued to their ears.
In a time before the internet, yet alone smart phones, this was the best way of keeping up to date with breaking news in 1990.
And the events Liverpool supporters were focused on were at Villa Park as their nearest rivals, Aston Villa, faced Norwich.
When John Barnes converted a second-half penalty to give Liverpool a 2-1 comeback lead, it was still not enough for the title because Villa were beating Norwich 3-1.
The fans got the news they wanted when Norwich striker Robert Rosario equalised seven minutes from time.
The Kop told Bruce Grobbelaar when he came to retrieve the ball and the news spread like wildfire around Anfield, which only held 38,000 back then.
The drama was not over at the final whistle and Anfield had to wait four interminable minutes before it was confirmed that Villa had drawn, handing Kenny Dalglish’s side the crown.
