Tarkowski looks for inspiration to end Everton's trophy drought

JAMES TARKOWSKI has had enough - it is time Everton's players brought an end to the longest silverware drought in the club's history.

The Blues went to Anfield on Saturday for the 247th Merseyside derby and were met with chants of “Champions” and “You haven't won a trophy since 1995” by home fans in their 2-1 loss.

Although Everton have lifted silverware across nine separate decades, a feat of longevity that only Liverpool and Manchester United can better, their current barren spell stretches back 30 years to when Joe Royle’ side defeated Alex Ferguson's Manchester United 1-0 in the FA Cup final.
