'I'll never run for the leadership of Labour'

ANGELA Rayner has insisted she never wants to be leader of the Labour Party.

The Deputy Prime Minister said yesterday it was the “honour of my life” to be delivering on housing reform and workers’ rights in her current government role.

Told there were people in the party who believed she had an eye on the top job one day, she said: "I do not want to run for leader of the Labour Party.”

Pressed further by the BBC, she said: “I rule it out. I'm absolutely focused on working with the PM and the Cabinet.
