- PATRICK HILL

I have a long journey..but this trauma will end

THE brave dad hurt shielding his family from a samurai swordsman in their bedroom says he has a long journey ahead but is sure the trauma will end soon.

IT engineer Henry De Los Rios Polania, in hospital with a deep hand wound, posted a picture of himself hooked up to medical sensors.

He wrote: "I would like to start by thanking all the nurses, paramedics and doctors for keeping me alive."

The 35-year-old also praised police "for risking their lives", "friends and family" and all those who made sure he did not "bleed out".

He added: "I'm recovering. I have a long journey ahead but I'm very positive that this trauma will end soon."

Colombian-born Henry, who has lived in the UK for a number of years, spoke out after Marcos Aurelio Arduini Monzo, 36, appeared in court accused of attacking him on Tuesday morning.
