£10bn jobs boost as Norway buys British warships
WARSHIPS for the Norwegian navy will be built in Britain, in a £10billion deal that will boost jobs and growth and protect national security.
The Ministry of Defence said a new fleet of 13 antisubmarine frigates would be operated jointly by the UK and Norway as Russian threats rise.
The Scandinavians will buy at least five of the fleet, while eight are being built for the Royal Navy.
Prime Minister Keir Starmer said: "This £10billion deal is about creating jobs, driving growth and protecting national security for working people.
