Gers eye Rohl after Gerro KO

DANNY ROHL is the new front runner for the Rangers job after Steven Gerrard snubbed the chance of a return to Ibrox.

It was widely expected the 45-year-old would replace the sacked Russell Martin, but the former Liverpool and England captain felt that the timing was not right for a second spell as Gers boss.

Rohl (above) is the new favourite after impressing senior figures at the club during talks last week.

The 36-year-old led Sheffield Wednesday to a 12th-placed finish in the Championship in his only full season as a manager before leaving the troubled Yorkshire club in July.
