Former top player Bridge insists Foden and Palmer can be vital in bid for World Cup glory

- KEITH WEBSTER

HE is one of the most decorated players in English football history.

He has been a one-club man for all nine of his professional seasons.

He is approaching the traditional prime years of a player's career, as he turns 26 in May.

And already he has 47 international appearances under his belt.

But for Phil Foden, winner of six Premier League titles, two FA Cups, five League Cups and the Champions League, his immediate future at Manchester City and his chances of making Thomas Tuchel's final World Cup squad are both hanging in the balance.

At his disposal, Tuchel has a wealth of midfield and attacking talent, and this will be a squad where every player handed a seat on the plane will have to earn it.

But according to the former Chelsea, Manchester City and England fullback, Wayne Bridge (above), it is unthinkable that the sort of game-changing talent Foden possesses would be left to waste at home this summer.
