UK at risk of 21% goods tariff that could wipe billions from economy

DONALD Trump is poised to hit Britain with a massive 21% tariff on goods that could wipe billions from the economy.

The President signed an alarming executive order imposing the "exact same tax or tariffs" on all countries with which the US has a trade deficit.

And in a surprise move he included VAT in his list of "unfair and harmful practices".

Experts warn this could knock 0.4% off GDP growth, at a cost of around £24billion.
