ROW BREWING Move to expand Super League has critics but Rowley is a fan of the idea

SALFORD boss Paul Rowley won't get carried away by the prospect of a 14-club Super League until seeing the “devil in the detail.”

Club owners this week agreed to increase from a dozen sides to 14 for 2026, a decision which has left many in the sport bemused.

Salford have their own bigger issues to deal with given they sit rock bottom ahead of hosting leaders Hull KR tonight and are still embroiled in major financial issues.

After all their on and off-field problems this term, it remains to be seen whether they even hold onto their Super League spot next year.

The Red Devils voted in favour of the rise to 14, probably knowing it might actually improve their chances of staying in the elite.
